The server system can be hosted on the customer's premises (on-premise). Linux or Windows-based computers can be used.
THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE
Introduction
The supervision software product is used to configure, monitor and control a wide variety of devices, function groups and applications in order to manage these technical systems centrally. User access and administration are carried out via a web-based interface, which enables central administration through application-oriented dialogues. The views, which are structured hierarchically according to location, devices and status, provide a quick and clear overview of the overall structure.
The various end devices/applications are connected to the server platform via a defined digital data interface to ensure data integrity and interoperability at all times. The cumulative data is stored on the server side so that the current status of connected devices and their historical history can be visualised. This allows relevant key figures to be compared directly between different systems, installations or points in time. In addition to purely passive data acquisition, supervision enables the triggering of event-driven actions through permanent data analysis. The type and scope of the stored data depends on device-specific properties and manufacturer documentation.
There is also a notification option in the event that functional anomalies are detected. The alarm can be sent to defined groups of people via various defined communication channels. Thanks to continuous status monitoring, small faults can be recognised at an early stage. Particularly in the event of damage to expensive systems, this not only reduces downtimes but also prevents further damage and/or consequential damage.
The system functionality is specially designed for use in media technology systems and offers specific options and interfaces for this system environment. As the system is heavily dependent on the IT infrastructure, its requirements can also be fully mapped in the system.

THE POSSIBILITIES
Features
The unique functions of supervision enable simple and secure completion of tasks in the media technology environment. In particular, the ability to integrate into existing systems and the presentation as a browser-based web application offer you all the necessary freedom.
Hosting on customer hardware
Manufacturer-independent
Devices from different manufacturers can be connected and thus managed together in one interface. (e.g. Cue, Crestron, ...).
Integration into existing systems
Retrofitting by adapting the programming of the media control, existing function programming is retained. Supervision can simply be added as an add-on to the system monitoring.
Remote control
In addition to the transmission of status data, the supervision integration also enables a room to be controlled remotely and events to be triggered.
Software client
In addition to the possibility of integrating hardware media controls into supervision via corresponding driver blocks, it is also possible to integrate computer systems using a software library.
Direct integration
Individual devices, e.g. from the network infrastructure or displays for digital signage, can be integrated directly into supervision. This allows device data to be read out directly and thus enables monitoring.

YOUR WAY TO SUPERVISION
Getting started
Consulting
In direct dialogue, we show you possible integration paths and agree on the best possible approach.
Installation
In the final step of the roll-out process, we provide support with installation and integration on the server side and with close partners on the media control side.
HOSTING
In order to operate supervision, it is necessary to install it on a server system. This involves several microservices in the form of Docker containers, which are executed by a server and thus made available. Whether the hardware used is located on your premises or you use our cloud service is up to you.
ON-PREMISES
Our hardware
We provide the hardware and software, you just create a little space. There is also the option of redundancy.

Use our cloud instances if you attach particular importance to availability, want to get started quickly or simply want to utilise local resources.
OVERVIEW OF INTEGRATION OPTIONS
Technology
Operation with media control
The standard set-up provides for communication via an existing room controller. This room controller ensures the functionality of the conference or meeting room. Due to the connection of the room devices to the media control system, which is necessary for the control functions, the device data is already collated at this point. The room controller summarises these device statuses and sends them to the supervision server. The following diagram shows the data path.

Room devices
Various devices in the conference room, server room, foyer or any other location that are connected to the media control system.
Media control system
The room controller provides both the functionality in the room and acts as a gateway to the supervision server.
SIMPL Windows modules are available for integration with Crestron Series 3 and Series 4 media controllers. Corresponding drivers are available for CUE controllers. The integration of the AMX, Extron and Needs platforms is currently under development or in test operation.
supervision server
The server is the central element. This is where all device data is collected, stored and analysed. User access is via the browser. Alerts are sent in real time.
User access
Users can monitor the system status and make settings via a browser. Access is secured by account. Different rights and responsibilities can be assigned to each user account.
Installation with multiple locations
In installations with a large number of distributed room instances or when booking our supervision cloud instance, it makes sense to adapt the communication structure compared to the first case shown. For this purpose, so-called edge servers can be used, which act as a link and data concentrator between the room controller and the supervision server.
Media control systems
As in the first example, the media controllers remain the link between the room devices and the supervision server. In this case, however, the controllers connect to the edge server.
Edge server
This intermediate computer summarises the data from several room controllers and sends it to the main server in compressed and encrypted form. By using this gateway, the two networks (incoming and outgoing) can be decoupled from each other.
supervision server
The main server continues to receive the room data. Technically, it is irrelevant whether communication with the media control system takes place via a gateway (edge server) or directly.
Operation without local infrastructure
If it is a building or room in which individual media control devices are also used, this case can be mapped as follows. This scenario is particularly suitable if a single device is to be integrated flexibly and without a local infrastructure. Here, the connection can be established directly between the end device and the supervision server by using appropriate routers/gateways. Depending on local conditions, the connection can also be established via mobile radio.
Device
Almost any device with a suitable interface and API can be connected here. This can be a media control system as a central control unit, but individual technical devices such as display panels (digital signage) in the conference room, server room, foyer or any other location can also be integrated directly.
WWAN router
By connecting directly to a router for wireless mobile connections, a single device can also be integrated flexibly and without a local infrastructure. Depending on the application, a local area network (LAN) or wireless network (WLAN) can also serve as the transmission medium. In any case, the intermediate router ensures that communication is sufficiently secure.
Mobile network
If there is no local infrastructure for communication for structural or cost-related reasons, the mobile network can be used. Special data tariffs for IoT applications enable very cost-efficient operation.

The main server continues to receive the room data. Technically, it is irrelevant whether communication with the media control system takes place via a gateway (edge server) or directly.
